Jeff Weiss has worked with me for almost two years: he helped with private training sessions, group classes and behavior modification. He has proven himself to be extremely responsible, knowledgeable and helpful not only with the dogs he works with, but also with the people he coaches. He is a fantastic handler, patient teacher and innovative thinker. We are very lucky to have him teach classes for The Washington Animal Rescue League as well as work with our most needy dogs on a regular basis. He is an invaluable asset to us and I could not recommend him more highly as a humane, positive reinforcement dog trainer with the greatest sense of humor and fantastic dog and people skills. Sabine Hentrich, CPDT-KA, private trainer and former Training & Behavior Manager, Washington Animal Rescue League.

Jeff taught us amazing little tricks that added up to being able to get our puppy's attention, and teach her the things
she needed to know so we can all live happily together.  And he did all this only through positive
and calm interaction with her.  We continue to call on the techniques we learned
from him to teach our dog new things, -- which is not only useful, but also aot of fun.  Lucinda Leach

Jeff - Jordy really enjoyed taking Basic Manners class with you.
We both learned quite a bit and practicing the training actually helped calm a wild, little Jack Russell puppy down.
But it wasn't apparent to me until we took the Tricks class that  you were her new BFF. Your class was fun for both of us.
I appreciated your understanding of how dogs think (or not) and the way you were able to explain the methods to work with and train Jordy.
We still practice all of the training and tricks.  She's getting better on the skate board all the time and I think she'll soon be riding away
from me instead of just running.  Cindy Cox - Jordy (Jack Russell Terrier)

All - Please be advised that Jeff Weiss is a fantastic dog trainer. This past summer my dog, Chloe and I attended 6 sessions of "Dog Tricks".
My original assumption was that Jeff wouldn't be able to teach all the tricks in the book in the 6 sessions provided. Jeff makes two assumptions:
(1)We are smarter than the dogs {not always valid}
(2)Any dog can learn.
He was right on both counts. It is a lot easier to teach an owner how to train the dog than to actually teach the dog.
I was amazed that Jeff could teach us some rather intricate tricks within 15 or 20 minutes, but the reinforcement training time at home really made it work.
All the dogs in our class were gems.  They learned with no difficulty. I don't think this was due to their innate intelligence or the ability of their owners.
I suggest that Jeff's knowledge and patience were the winning attributes.  I would recommend Jeff to anyone for either group or private lessons.
Please feel free to forward my name and contact information to any prospective client. Rest assured, I have nothing but positive things to say.
